Sure they explain in an accessible manner, why oil needs to be kept in the ground.

This whole debate about the right of developing countries to use their oil reserves just as their colonisers; the exploitative nations of the global North did- is a debate-me bro central argument. It is again, acting like it was a mere philosophical debate.

Nigeria contributed close to nothing to the climate collapse we are experiencing, and has been bearing the brunt of it- long before anyone bat an eye. Further exploitation in an exploited nation would be catastrophic.

Just bc it not existential for now, it will be in the future, wherever you are. And for the record- nuclear and asteroids are a great example, bc that is the level of devastation we are looking at now.
