I grew up.on horseback in Mongolia, and we learn bareback and lean in, direct the horse more with our entire bodies and weight than by kicking or the reins. Most horses respond to sounds and commands too.

I never liked western style riding and barely ever go out riding. I think it must gave always been bc of what you kust described there
