I am mixed-race, and I feel like my entire life is an ongoing interrogation about my origins, job, how my parents met.

Then they act extra surprised when I ask how THEIR parents met. It is a weird question to ask a stranger, don’t do it. Then comes the gasping about how well I speak my mother tongue, and how did I learn it.

Just to mention a “ few white people doing white people things" annoyances.🤦🏻‍♀️
